Wonder if they use them in Europe. There's not much of fuses on medium voltage lines here (15kV, 20kV). I've seen some near the transformers, but even that is rare. Mostly there's just a disconnector on the pole top, that can be operated with a lever from the ground. They can't be operated under load, so first they need to open the low voltage cabinet by the transformer and drop the load on the 230/400V side. I think they don't use fuses here because those big transformers almost never go bad.

A friend of mine had a workshop fire that nearly burnt his workshop down. Review of the security footage showed that the fire started at the compressor. It suddenly started shooting flames from the connection box on top of the motor. Some years later I came across a totally burnt AC unit that suffered from the same failure. From that time I'll always make sure to NOT get the plastic capacitors.
